When you buy a new dress or shirt you benefit. You wanted it, you paid for it and now you wear it. By the same token, if you need to learn something, there are some resources that you can use for free and you can actually learn quite a bit. Other times you will need to pay a few dollars to get access to something you want or need to learn that is more complex or complete.
If what you want is to start your own business, then you should be able to accept that there may be some expenses. One way to learn a lot faster is ‘hands=on’, versus theory that you learn from books or other educational material. Hands-on is where you learn by doing. You would likely have some kind of instructions at least to direct you step-by-step and you would actually see the results unfold in a relatively short period of time.
To be honest, you can read book after book and not know how to actually do anything at the end of the day. However maybe a combination of hands-on and theory is a good idea so that you will have a complete understanding. People do learn in different ways – some by hearing and seeing, some by doing, and some by reading and studying.
When it comes to an online business there is a wealth of information available to you freely through the search engines where you can find out quite a bit theoretically. In fact there are even free courses you can take online if you want to seriously pursue something. With that said, the best idea is to learn by doing ‘hands-on’ in real time and if you can possibly earn money at the same time, even better.
The point here however is not to be afraid to invest a few dollars to learn something. You don’t have to look at it like you are giving somebody money for something of value they are giving you if you don’t want to. You can look at it as investing in your future.
One of the easiest and fastest ways to earn while you learn is to join an affiliate program that provides some level of training or instruction. The truth is you can apply the same principles they will show you to any similar online business. So no commitment, just get in there and get ‘your feet wet’. See if you can relate to it at all. See if you like it, see if you think you can do it.
This can cost you a very small amount such as $10 or $20 a month to have a membership in an online program. There usually aren’t (and should never be) any contracts that require you to stay in any amount of time beyond month-to-month. It is really a small investment with very low risk to get a quick look at the business model. Don’t be afraid to invest in yourself. You wouldn’t hesitate to spend that much on a movie or lunch – and what does that buy you?
